We live just down the road from this little beauty, and have visited a few times now. We have only been for breakfast so far. But have been pretty impressed so will definitely be trying to make it down for dinner or drinks one night.
Every morning we have gone in, we've been instantly greeted and taken to a table. There is quite a lot of sitting room, so lots of tables available and your usually not crammed next to somebody else. The walls are filled with a mixture of empty and unopened wine bottles, which warms up their large walls and creates a bar atmosphere. The table water is served in large mason jars (*sigh* i love mason jars!) and the coffee isn't bad. They use Toby's Estate. I don't mind the coffee, but PZ isn't so much of a fan of his mocha.
We do LOVE the food though. Our favourite dish so far has been the Spiced Chickpeas with Slow Eggs with a side of Bacon. Extremely tasty. They mix in a bit of their capsicum relish. YUM-O.
PZ is a fan of the chunky hash-browns. I love their crispy bacon - it's actually crispy and fresh (unlike many other perth restaurants). Their presentation is amongst the best i've seen in Perth, and has been the same high-standard each time we visit.
The freshly squeezed orange juice is delicious, and very large size. I now split one with PZ as couldn't finish it last time. The Precinct also have a lot of baked sweet treats on their counter, like muffins, biscuits and macaroons. We tried a red velvet macaroon once and wasn't disappointed. The only thing i don't like is it sits on the counter directly where people pay and kind of puts me off that people are breathing all over them.
All in all, i would give The precinct an 8.5/10. Like I said at the start, I would love to try their evening meals and soak up the atmosphere. I've seen they do a Sunday roast each week, so might make it down for that!
It's great to have a high quality restaurant in Vic Park.
